Gramps' Advice

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Or so they'd have you believe. And by "they", I mean terrorists. And by "terrorists", I mean those who provoke terror in others for their own benefit. Not necessarily Arabs with bombs. I know, that wasn't politically correct. Not all Arabs use bombs, some like missiles or airplanes. Anyway, don't believe the hype about breakfast. Consider the word. Break and fast. You can't even have a proper breakfast without fasting first. And what constitutes fasting? The dictionary defines it as "quick". In which case, a quick breakfast would be completely appropriate. And then you have to... break it. As in "break bread", perhaps? In the end, a quick and humble portion of bread is more than enough breakfast. Etymologically speaking.

What I'm trying to say is, breakfast is not really the most important meal of the day. When I worked as a night guard in the World Bank, I had breakfast under the moon. That wasn't the most important meal of the day. It was just some bread. At night.

Don't trust old sayings, kids. They're misleading. Instead, trust what old people say. Like me. That'll get you through the day. Better than any breakfast ever could.
